Molycarbide Products - Disc Brakes

Molycarbide is a new and unique material excelling in applications where heat and wear are considerations. This makes it ideal for the production of disc rotors and when compared to existing cast iron used in manufacturing today, it truly out performs in all areas. A tensile strength comparison gives an initial insight to Molycarbide properties. This makes Molycarbide disc rotors the best brakes in the world today.

WITH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY COMES THE WORLD'S BIGGEST LEAP FORWARD IN BRAKES

REDUCES STOPPING DISTANCE

The co-efficient of friction, "the bite", has a measured value 29% higher than today's rotors. This is achieved by the fine grain and bonding of the Molycarbide microstructure this superior feature delivers the most important part of braking safety; STOPPING

NO EVIDENCE OF FADE

The closeness of the metal matrix allows the transfer of heat more readily and the dissipation of heat occurs more freely resulting in a far more stable material which ensures the braking face stability and frictional quality of Molycarbide.

LONGER LASTING

Molycarbide is formed from molybdenum and carbon, both of which are primary earth elements. Both are extremely strong; carbon is the element in diamonds, and when combined we have a material that is extremely wear resistant.

COOLER OPERATION

The ability to transfer heat rapidly through the structure which is formed of small, round, closely bonded molecules, allows for the rapid dissipation of unwanted heat this will leave the brakes cool and safe to operate.

NO SHUDDER OR PULSATION

The brakes operate cooler through a greater number of thermal cycles. It maintains even transitions; basically no hot spots that create deviations in the braking surface. Our disc thickness variation is less than 5 microns compared to car manufactures requirements of 20 microns

NO BLACK DUST

The fine grain structure of Molycarbide brakes create a smoother surface that wears by shedding of a minute round ball. Other materials wear by a flaking deposit and of course wear faster creating the black dust you see on magnesium wheels around today

MANUFACTURED 35% LIGHTER

The strength of the Molycarbide material allows for areas of the rotor to be reduced in mass. This reduction is located where suspension has no effect and gives your vehicle many advantages, all achieved with out any reduction in safety

BETTER HANDLING

This is a combination of two point’s obviously reduced stopping distance and the other by reduced weight. With the lighter wheel assembly, steering is easier and a lighter rotating mass will have less gyroscopic effect, resulting in precise steering for the driver

LESS SUSPENSION STRESS

The suspension has to be able to ride out the bumps. Take away the unwanted back lash and it is easy to see how springs and shock absorbers can control a lighter brake assembly, making sure the impacts of the road are not transferred to the steering system.

LOWER FUEL CONSUMPTION

It takes more effort to move a heavy object even greater when you add the weight of the brake, now combined with the low drag factor made possible by the smooth surface we have increased efficiency everywhere and have reduced your fuel consumption.
